I’ve been here for two weeks and loved it! It’s such a shame I have to leave

as I’m enjoying it more and more. I’ve been teaching in the school and

working in the day care centre, a really great project. Both have been very

rewarding experiences and I’m only sorry I can’t stay longer to help in the

small way I have been and see the projects grow. Working with the kids

was always a lot of fun and they have been so friendly and welcoming.

Sam and Jacky have been great and BUILD India is clearly well run.

Always with volunteering I’ve learnt a lot from my time here and have

many good memories to take home. Fingers crossed I’ll be back again!

My decision to come here may well have been the best I have made.

I learned more in 4 weeks here than in my 2 years of doctoral training.

I hope that the passion of service this experience has created within

me never diminishes.

I have had a brilliant two weeks working with BUILD India and will

never forget the experience. The madness of the school was

just one of the surprises that awaited us here. Everyone was so

friendly and helpful, especially in Chandrapadi, which is quite touching

after hearing all their Tsunami stories. I have never been near a

construction site before at home but the toughly enjoyed that aspect

of my stay. We can learn a lot from these workers! BUILD India has

encouraged me to do more volunteer work when I get home and hopefully

abroad again at some stage. Thanks to everyone for making it so enjoyable!

 I’ve been here for three weeks and had a great time. Unfortunately I

came during the school holidays. I feel that I could have done a lot more

otherwise which is pretty much the only low point. Working in the day

care centre was great thought, the kids were super and I feel I have

contributed something there. I loved seeing them smile and grow!

BUILD India is doing an amazing job here. Keep up the good work!

Spending time with everyone in the house was great and I also enjoyed

our little trips from time to time. So yeah, keep on going and thanks for

giving me a wonderful and special experience of India. I enjoyed every

minute of it!

I had a really great time! When I go back to Germany I will take a lot

of good memories with me. e.g sleeping on the roof under the full moon

and the sharing of a great time with the other volunteers, Jacky and Sam.

Also helping on the construction site gave me a good experience. I would

love to come back to see how the development goes on. Have a nice time

and keep on going!
